Who Should Apply?

Our students come with a fantastic array of life experiences, gifts, challenges, and abilities. What they all share is a willingness to take initiative in their education, to engage with their schoolwork and peers, and to discover their true passions.
Fundamentally, we look for students who are up for the challenge of Youth Initiative; who want to be fully involved in their education. This desire is paramount. Beyond this, successful YIHS students also demonstrate engagement, curiosity, commitment, striving, creativity, and fortitude.

How Do I Apply?
You can find forms and directions here – or contact us with any questions.

Stop By and See Us Sometime!
We strongly encourage all students interested in attending Youth Initiative to visit our school. To make arrangements for a visit, call (608) 637-6445 or email us at [email protected].

From the YIHS Vision & Purpose Statement:
“YIHS admits students of any race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, national origin (ancestry), sexual orientation, or parental status to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of any race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, national origin (ancestry), sexual orientation, or parental status in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic or other school-administered programs.”
