After considerable existential hand-wringing, he received his Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Minnesota, Morris and his Master's Degree in Agrarian History from Iowa State University. He has taught at the Youth Initiative High School since 2005 and has served as the school's Administrator since 2013. He shares a family of five children with his mysterious wife. He enjoys reading books that are not necessarily entertaining but are good for him, showing love (both to himself and others) through food, gardening, fixing things that are broken (including other people's feelings), and vainly attempting to cast American pop culture as a legitimate form of human expression. He has a spiritual connection with cottonwood trees, Tom Waits' discography before 1993, and birds that don't migrate.
